89. Philip K Dick (1928-1982)
Who knew that the author of the paranoid dystopian books that inspired Blade Runner and Total Recall and Minority Report was such a looker? His five wives all did, probably, but did you?
I had a Dick phase in college (ha ha get it) and my favorite book was always The World Jones Made, although the man published forty-four novels* and I’ve only read maybe five. Maybe it’s time to revisit that.

From 1948 to 1952 Dick worked in a record store. In 1955, he and his second wife, Kleo Apostolides, received a visit from the FBI, which they believed to be the result of Kleo’s socialist views and left-wing activities. The couple briefly befriended one of the FBI agents.
