I actually find saying this very tedious, but not as tedious as when people ignore it.  So.  once again.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO REBLOG SOMETHING I POSTED, COULD YOU PLEASE NOT DELETE THE NAMES OF THE MODELS, THE PHOTOGRAPHERS, AND THE SOURCES?  AND PLEASE AT LEAST HAVE THE DECENCY TO LINK BACK HERE SO THAT ANYONE WHO LIKES THE IMAGE MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIND WHERE IT CAME FROM.

I understand that you want to get off quick as can be and all, but deleting info on those responsible for getting you off is just rude.  And the same person is doing this three or four times a day.  It drives me crazy.

I assume you’re talking to me. I don’t keep the credit because a) you don’t own the pics b) I don’t own the pics c) I don’t archive them on my site for more than a month d) it makes my twitter links look really really junky e) I don’t do this for money so who fucking cares. (Oh, apparently you LOL.)

Well, yes, I did mean you, actually.  I know I don’t own the images, and I know you don’t own them either.  And it has nothing to do with money.  That’s not the point.  The point is that someone took the time to produce the photos, and someone took the time to upload them somewhere.  If you don’t know where something came from, fine.  It’s the internet.  That happens a lot.  But if the credit is already there, removing it is inconsiderate, regardless of how it makes your Twitter feed look.

You’re very silly. And yet, I wholeheartedly congratulate on all the credit you are getting for clicking a mouse and reblogging someone else’s PORNOGRAPHIC photos. Do you even remotely understand how much that shit costs to produce? You MUST BE MENTALLY RETARDED if you think you have ANY ownership/claim/credit to those images in ANY WAY. Anywhoo, I unfollowed you and hope you feel better after having told me off LOL. BYE.

Wait, now I’m confused.  Are you saying that PORNOGRAPHIC photos are less valuable than other photos, so the performers and photographers don’t deserve any credit?  Or are you saying that they’re commercial so their value is somehow beyond that of people who might want credit?  Either way, I never claimed ownership in any way (notice how I said “I don’t own the images”) but was only suggesting people might want to click through so they could at least find where the photos might have originated from.  And I think it’s fairly standard Tumblr etiquette to not delete your sources?  (Am I wrong in this?)

I’m off to the New York Art Book Fair preview and benefit.  If you’re there and see someone tall and bearded and New Englandy-looking (ie. me), say hi.  I’ll be wearing green pants, which I think are very cute if slightly ill-fitting in the crotchal area.

My Tumblr queue is going to run out tomorrow afternoon at some point, I think, but I should be back by then.  Might be a slight gap, though.
